OTN Fiber Issues Tuesday 18th October 2022 15:30:00
We are seeing interrupted communication on our OTN to Des Moines. We are currently working with the fiber provider to investigate.
As of 16:00 Yesterday, the Fiber provider respliced and is hands off on the circuit. Light levels are in an acceptable range and appear to be stable.
Techs are being dispatched to assess the cause of the loss.
Additional loss on the fiber has been identified. We are reaching out to the provider.
As of 3:30AM The provider advised repairs have been completed and they are now hands off.
A fiber cut has been identified. New cable will need to be pulled but is obstructed at this time. The fiber provider is waiting on requested emergency locates. No work can proceed until this is accomplished. No ETR at this time.
The fiber provider is currently en route to shoot the fiber span towards the vicinity of a suspected fiber cut.
