Chicago Colocation Facility Cooling Issue Sunday 14th January 2024 19:28:18

The facility we are located at in Chicago is currently experiencing issues with it's cooling system. This has not caused a disruption at this time but the temperature is still climbing and it's possible equipment we depend on or networks we connect to depend on for connectivity to Chicago will experience a fault due to the temperature. Our connectivity via other networks in Minneapolis and Des Moines can accommodate our customer demand in the event we have a disruption in connectivity to Chicago or with other networks there, but some disruption would occur while routes reconverge. The facility operator is still actively working to resolve the issue and proving regular updates on the status of the situation.

The facility operator has repaired equipment to reach a stable state on cooling.

The facility cooling system is working sufficiently to meet the desired operating temperatures and humidity of the space, while they continue to work on repairing one chiller unit to fully restore the system.

The facility operator has continued to work on restoring the cooling system and has made some progress but it has not yet reached normal operating temperatures. They continue to engage their engineers and the vendors to resolve the issue.

The facility operator has gotten more of the cooling system restored but it is still not to full capacity. They have deployed the additional cooling equipment they have received to help control the situation and the temperature has come down considerably but still above normal operating temperatures.

The facility operator has informed us that they have partial restoration of cooling for the facility which has been able to stabilize the temperature and they have some temporary equipment on the way to further restore cooling capacity for the space. So far our equipment has not exceeded any operating temperature thresholds.
