Chicago connectivity disruption Monday 7th April 2025 12:27:01
Connectivity to our router in Chicago is currently disrupted. We have reached out to our transport provider, and they are investigating. Traffic has been rerouted which may cause some latency and performance differences.
We have seen connectivity to Chicago is restored but have not heard from the transport provider if the repair crews have completed their work. It's possible additional disruptions may occur while repairs are underway.
Our transport provider has informed us that access to the conduit is done but a new section of cable is needed. They have the first team working on preparing a new splice case at one end and a second team is being dispatched to the other end to prepare it and will work in parallel to expedite the repairs.
Our transport provider has informed us that work is still being performed to access the damaged fiber cable. Due to this being along a rail road additional safety precautions are necessary when excavating. There is currently no estimated time to repair.
