Minneapolis Transport Disruption Tuesday 8th April 2025 14:33:00

We are seeing a disruption to our optical transport to Minneapolis, and there appears to be a loss of connectivity between our nodes in Cedar Falls and Mason City. We are investigating the cause of the disruption and will provide updates as we have more information.

A ticket was opened with our fiber provider, who then opened a ticket up with another party. Technicians were dispatched last night at 6:17pm. Services were restored as of 6:45am this morning and they are fully hands off.

OTDR trace from Cedar Falls identified a break approximately 124,000 feet out on both fibers. We are reaching out to the fiber provider so they can locate the damage and begin restoration.
