Link between DSM and Ames: Loss of signal Monday 24th November 2025 11:00:00

Crews have finished pulling cable and the west side of the fiber has been completely spliced. Splicers are now working on the east end and started around 2:50 PM CT. Services should begin to restore with each splice. Estimated time of resolution has been set for 5:00 PM CT.

Our dark fiber provider has confirmed that a contractor damaged the fiber while doing unrelated work. Crews are onsite working to expose the damaged fiber to evaluate next steps. There is no ETR at this time.
