Intermittent packet loss on transit link Thursday 29th October 2020 08:50:21


This morning we identified one of our transit links was experiencing intermittent packet loss, which may have caused intermittent issues with connectivity until it was isolated. We have taken the link out of service and are working with the carrier to identify and resolve the problem.

We have swapped the transceiver with a spare and the link appears to be stable. We have brought the link back into service.

We have narrowed down the cause to a failing optical transceiver in our router, and we are working on getting it replaced.
