Some Guide Data Incorrect Wednesday 3rd February 2021 17:53:50

Due to changes made by the broadcaster moving channel content between OTA channels, guide data for some channels does not match the content. The broadcaster moved guide data on existing EPG source IDs, and created new EPG source IDs. The broadcaster has not informed us of the correct station numbers to use for the IPTV system. Internally the broadcaster does not know the correct guide information to place into the OTA PSIP data they broadcast. The impacted channel call signs are FOX ( was KFXA, now KGAN FOX ), CometTV, GetTV, and DABL. Some of these channels have guide data issues on RF STBs as well. The broadcaster also is the source for KGAN CBS, CHARGE, TBD, and STADIUM. The EPG data for those channels appears currently to be correct, however it is possible these could get impacted as the broadcaster continues to make changes.

The guide data issues for IPTV have been resolved for DABL.

The changes made have not restored the guide data for DABL on IPTV STBs. Some experimentation today revealed a possible solution, but the final change would need to take place during a maintenance window. The proposed solution needs to be reviewed before maintenance will be scheduled. The RF STB guide issues on Standard Definition KGAN FOX, GetTV, and DABL will not be resolved until a NASRAC change scheduled for 18FEB2021. Other previously impacted channels have guide data as expected.

Today 04FEB2021 the broadcaster has been providing guide data closer to the transmitted shows for most impacted channels. DABL ( CFU Channel 148 ) is the remaining channel impacted, which has missing guide data. Changes have been made that should correct the remaining IPTV guide problems, however changes will not be visible until after the morning EPG ingest 05FEB2021. STBs fed via RF will have Standard Definition 6 ( KGAN FOX ) with incorrect guide data until a change scheduled in two weeks. Customers should be using High Definition channel 406 which has correct guide data. Dabl will not replace CometTV on those RF STBs until the change in two weeks. Dabl is now available on IPTV STBs or via clear QAM. This incident will be reviewed tomorrow to verify changes today produced the expected results.
